[Pink Box June 2013] Etude House Color Pop

Hi!~

If you follow my Instagram, you would have saw May's Pink Box! (I always post the items on my Instagram first, so do follow @fennyhwang if you wanna have a preview of their latest stuff!) Its the Color Pop collection which is actually their pre-summer range. It consisted of colourful makeup items like eyeliners, nail colours, lip sticks and tints! And hehehehehehe can I say that this is my FAVEEEE collection Etude House ever released? I am a super fan of orange lip colours for the simple reason that they look fresh and happy, and I think I can pull it off. Their existing Dear My Lipstalk range  has some wonderful oranges (I own OR206) but it feels slightly heavy. Read on to find out why I prefer the Color Pop range more!!!

I did a simple look with the products - a bright summer-ish orange inspired one~ It makes orange really wearable and fun!

*for full list of products used, please check out the description box in the vid ^^

Ok~ now on to the review!~

This new range of orange Dear My Color Pop Lipstalk are encased in a matte white exterior, and finished with a little orange ribbon. TOO CUTE. This formula is different from their usual lipstalk line - they feel a lot more velvety and light, while remaining really pigmented. The usual range is a lot creamier, glossier and heavier. However, this formula is slightly drier than usual lipstalks so do moisturize prior to application :) This new Color Pop lipstick also lasted longer than the usual lipstalks and they transfer waaaay lesser product onto my teeth (LOL, it happens ok!) than usual lipsticks. Best of all, you have 10 awesome orange colours to choose from! Hehehehehe.

LOVE THE FRESH ORANGE!

They also released a new set of lip tints, which are really different from their existing ones like their Darling tint, Cherry tint and Kissful tint. This one is more pigmented, it feels less watery and slightly oily. Feels more like a lip lacquer, except that it doesn't have a high-gloss finish. The colour is really intense and bright, and like what lip tints do, they last a longggg time and don't transfer to my teeth or straw or cup, AT ALL. The colour intensity is buildable, so don't worry about it looking too bright on the wand! I would have to say that having used all of Etude's lip tints before, this is the best formulation.

Turns out to be a cherry tomato colour!

Perfect for Ulzzang-styled gradation lips!

Fancy coloured eyeliners? I admit, I'm not an adventurous person when it comes to eye makeup. I love my neutrals a lot. However, I gave these eyeliners a try and I actually liked how they looked! Maybe cos its like summer now and most people have colourful and bright clothing and makeup, I felt it wasn't too outstanding to wear such a liner. The ones that Etude House kindly provided are a red colour (PK103) with gold shimmers and a matte orange colour (OR202). They are from their Drawing Show Creamy Eyeliner series and yes, they are really pigmented and glides on smoothly. They last like 6 hours before being a little smudgey. 6 hours is good enough, don't cha think? Only downside is that they have to be manually sharpened with a seperate sharpener, and as gel liners they get blunt pretty quick.

And lastly! They released a nail colour spectrum of greens to blues, which are so lovable!!! The most grassy greens, to the turquoise of the Maldives seawater, to the blue of a clear sky... wow. Generally, the lighter colours are slightly more streaky while the darker ones are an awesome one-coater. They are such bright and fun colours! I mean they look so cute and the little bottles make it less sinful to collect them all ain't it?

  1. I love this blog post! All dedicated to Etude House products hehe. :)
The color pop lipsticks look so pretty~ I'm a fan of orange colored lippies so I am glad to hear positive points of the product itself. The color really suit your skin tone!

Seems like creamy eyeliners paired with vibrant bold colors are the trend these days. Like you, I prefer neutral shades and I don't particularly do anything crazy when it comes to my eyes. But I still can't help but to wonder how these will look on me, especially a turquoise color which was the hype a couple of years ago. xD

Just by looking at the bright colors of their nail polishes, I feel cheerful. :D I have a question regarding the Pink Box, I would like to receive one too.. but my question is: How?!?! Can you please help me out? ><

Outing to Farmart

Hi~

Met Angie for a bonding day awhile ago. Supposingly we went to the River Safari because Angie had free tix, but we ended up at Farmart because the tix were expired. The trip to Farmart totally savaged the day!

The place is easily accessible by taking a shuttle bus ($1 each way) that comes every 30 mins, opposite Choa Chu Kang Lot 1. It was an eye-opener for me. It felt like Malaysia. Lol.

There was a pet food store cum pet hotel and I bought some food (vitakraft sticks & fish fillets) for my favourite neighbourhood cats. The pricing is slightly cheaper than town prices so I bought a bigger pack. The place mainly is a farm and food place, as online articles mentioned that they sell cheaper seafood but the stalls were mostly closed that day. There were also a bird shop and prawning area. The farm.. is really interesting.

There were super tamed parrots (or mini parrots lol)
Stacked tortoises
Creepy toads
Sleepy birds
We bought the feed while we were there. The $5 set was totally …

[SAMPLE REVIEW] Skinfood Salmon Eye Cream

Hi! I got this a sachet of Skinfood's Salmon Eye Cream with some Korean cosmetics, and only recently I felt like trying it :P

I know right! Salmon?! On your skin?! Well, that's Skinfood for you. Salmon is not as bad as.. CREAMY CHEESE MASK! Well, I like cheese in my food but not on my face. *squirms*

It does not smell one bit like salmon. Smells a lot like jasmine flowers, A LOT!!! An overly strong smell of jasmine, which is weird since salmon is used instead. *50 points deducted*

It's a white cream, which I feel is oily and fatty, and only a little is required. This sachet lasted me for 5 times, for both eyes! Not the best texture for an eye brightening cream. I believe this is gonna be bad for people with oily or problematic skin and may not be able to withstand the richness of this eye cream.

Stays really oily for at least 10 minutes, felt like the absorption was reeeaaalllyyy slow. Besides, I've used it for 5 times and there are no significant changes. No brighteni…

DIY blusher cushion with a finished compact

Hi!

I always wanted to buy a cushion blusher, seeing how convenient how cushion foundations are but I've never actually gotten down to get one seeing how expensive they were. The one that I wanted was an IOPE one cos it comes in a usual cushion compact with a mirror and it looks so easy to use! So I took out my finished cushion compacts (an Etude House Lock'n Summer one and an IOPE Air Cushion XP) and washed them really clean. Also, I found myself rarely using the Etude House Water Color cream blushes (I only tried the orange once and the rest were brand new and sealed.. man, the result of hoarding and forgetting what you have) because I don't know of a proper way to blend creamy blushes lol. I liked its colors and finish though; feels matte and smooth but it does not look overly powdery. The blushers are the right texture for the deed, so I used them for my DIY blusher cushion. P/s. this isn't exactly a tutorial as I think most people can do this without instructions,…
